Donald Trump loves to make a grand entrance, and he has repeatedly turned simply showing up into a performance of its own.

Whether he arrives late, keeps a room waiting or makes a dramatic entrance once the cameras are rolling, Trump seems to understand that timing can be part of the spectacle.

At the G7 summit, he took that instinct even further, walking in and announcing himself as “the boss,” instantly making his arrival the story.

Questions about Trump's health return

Trump stood at a podium Wednesday, Aug. 19, joined by executives in dark suits to talk digital currency at the White House crypto summit. What ended up going viral on social media wasn’t a word he said though. It was his appearance.

In one particular clip posted on X, Trump is noticeably seen with a red complexion while addressing the crowd. While standing next to a bunch of tech executives and crypto magnates, social media found it hard focusing on Trump’s words without commenting on his state.

Trump had joined technology and crypto industry leaders for a session focused squarely on the future of digital currency and crypto. The same industry that spent heavily backing him and has been collecting policy returns ever since.

While declaring an end to the “war on crypto” and pressuring lawmakers to bypass digital asset legislation, Trump’s face had a noticeable redness to it. While reading from his cue cards in his hand, he threw his full-on support behind the future of cryptocurrency.

But there was more. The clip also picked up on his heavy breathing, raising the question why he’d be out of breath from simply reading. Needless to say, people couldn’t focus on what was actually said, they were too busy observing Trump.

“Was he really that red?” one user asked. Another wrote, “Orange has shifted to red!!!” A third posed the question that got the most traction: “How do you become out of breath from talking?” It’s worth mentioning that this arrives just a day after another clip had people saying he looked out of it during a briefing.

“Guy on the left looks like he’s trying so hard not to laugh,” one commenter wrote. Another said they were “trying to discern the expression on that far left guy’s face.” Another person wanted to know about his health, “What’s wrong with him?” The staffers became the story. Same as when an aide got caught scrambling to block a camera during his entrance last week.

Wednesday fits a pattern that has followed the 80-year-old for months, and the public record is more substantial than the viral clip suggests.

In July 2025, then-press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, per ABC News. It’s a condition in which leg veins fail to return blood properly to the heart. The White House, however, attributed the bruising on his hands to frequent handshaking and aspirin.

Meanwhile, his flushed appearance has its own documented explanation. Trump has managed rosacea for years, per the IB Times. That’s a chronic skin condition causing facial redness and visible vessels. A former physician confirmed he took medication for it.

None of that has slowed the speculation, partly because each new episode gets handled the same way. A photo circulates, the internet diagnoses him, the White House issues a narrow explanation for that specific symptom, and no independent medical assessment ever follows.

There’s a reason people are watching this president’s every gesture right now, and it isn’t only because of his health.

The past three weeks have truly belonged to Natalie Harp, Trump’s 35-year-old aide whose constant proximity became a national storyline after Sen. Jon Ossoff called out the pair’s relationship at the Georgia Democrat’s campaign rally in Atlanta on Aug. 16.

Reporting followed on letters she reportedly wrote Trump and an incident in which she rode in the trunk of an SUV rather than miss a motorcade. This comes after reports about how she became unavoidable after Leavitt’s exit and the revelation.

Melania Trump then resurfaced Thursday, Aug. 20, after 32 days out of public view, and the clip people replayed from that afternoon was the moment he let go of her hand.
