The two surviving members plan to reunite after years of tension, solo projects and renewed signs of collaboration.

Quavo says he and Offset are bringing Migos back for one final album and tour, marking a new chapter for the Atlanta rap group nearly four years after Takeoff’s death. The announcement comes after years of tension between the two surviving members, separate solo careers and renewed signs that they had begun working together again.

Quavo confirmed the planned reunion during an interview with Atlanta radio station V-103’s DJ Greg Street. The rapper confirmed that the pair intend to make another Migos project and take the music on the road. “We coming back,” Quavo said. “We’re going to do it one more time.”

As reported by Complex, he also indicated that a tour would follow, saying, “We going to tour. We going to do it right.” The planned project would follow “Culture III,” released in June 2021 and the last Migos album featuring Takeoff during his lifetime. “Culture III” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. There is currently no announced release date or album title. It also has not been confirmed whether previously recorded vocals from Takeoff could appear on the project.

Migos’ return comes after a period in which Quavo and Offset pursued separate careers following tensions within the group. Quavo and Takeoff released “Only Built for Infinity Links” in October 2022, shortly before Takeoff was killed in Houston at age 28. Offset subsequently released his 2023 solo album “SET IT OFF”.

The two surviving members publicly reunited at the 2023 BET Awards, performing “HOTEL LOBBY” and “Bad & Boujee” in tribute to Takeoff. Talk of a final Migos project intensified in April when Quavo posted a message referencing a Takeoff album, another “Unc N Phew” project and a “LAST” album. Offset responded with a photo of the trio and the words “On dat.” The two were later seen together in the studio.

For Atlanta hip-hop, Migos represents one of the groups that helped carry the city’s trap sound into the center of mainstream music. Quavo, Offset and Takeoff built a catalog that included “Bad and Boujee,” “T-Shirt,” “Stir Fry,” “MotorSport” and “Walk It Talk It,” while “Culture” became one of the defining albums of the group’s rise.
