Donald Trump is not beating the “Commander-in-Grift” accusations, and a new Forbes report exposes the alleged way he’s been getting over on golf course visitors.

The president, 80, is the subject of the Sep. 7 article “Hot-Dog Heaven: Inside Trump’s Golf Getaways.”

The politician routinely flees the White House to visit golf courses; his most frequented properties are his Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, and the Trump National Golf Club in suburban Washington, D.C.

Senior Editor Dan Alexander spoke with a former D.C. club employee for the story, fueling increased scrutiny.

The individual revealed that Trump is flocking to the links for more than to show off his swing — apparently, it’s the food that keeps pulling him back.

“He has this weird, very odd pride about how good the hot dogs are,” the former staffer claimed. “That’s his thing. The chef has to be out there. And he’s like, ‘Chef, get everyone a hot dog — all these guys.’”

The catch, though, is that Trump is not handing out the snack as an act of generosity. Instead, he is reportedly lining his pockets at the taxpayers’ expense.

According to Alexander, “Donald Trump is obsessed with the hot dogs at one of his golf courses. So obsessed that he orders one for everyone around him, including his Secret Service detail. Then, according to a former employee, the club bills the Secret Service for the hot dogs.”

The federal law enforcement agency is backed by taxpayer money. An X user reacted to the story by stating, “It’s a sickness. He clearly doesn’t need the money. He has a guttural need to take advantage of people. In everything he does.”

Amid his return to office in January 2025, Trump boasted that he would again forgo accepting the $400,000 presidential salary. His net worth got a $3 billion boost from the presidency, ranking him No. 201 on the 2025 Forbes 400 list with $7.3 billion.

A second critic snapped, “He can’t even pay for hot dogs to feed the people who are sworn to protect his life? Come on, man.”

Others were disgusted by the hot dog revelation and mocked Trump’s appearance. The president was dubiously reported to be 6 feet 3 and weigh 238 pounds during his May physical.

However, his midsection and backside appear substantially larger four months later.

On Facebook, detractors wrote that he is “beating out Taft as our most morbidly obese president. Be best!” and “He looks unhealthy.” Hecklers speculate that he is tipping the scale at 300 pounds.

“He wants all the people around him to be fatter than he is so he looks better than them,” scoffed another person.

Someone else tweeted, “Obviously the main story is Trump is constantly finding ‘creative’ ways to rip off the government and enrich himself but I still continue to marvel at how he literally has the most disgusting, inhuman diet of any person I have ever encountered.”

In 2024, Trump ranted about his go-to golf snack to a crowd of supporters at a reelection rally. “Let’s talk about hot dogs. I just had one actually,” he said. “I just had a hot dog, it was very good” before complaining about the price of bacon and Joe Biden’s politics.

Trump has also bragged about his affinity for McDonald’s items like Big Macs and Filet-O-Fish sandwiches. It’s been reported for years that he takes a high dose of aspirin to prevent his blood from being too thick.

The administration insists he is in perfect health despite his constant dozing off during meetings and his incessantly bruised hands. His only known ailment is the circulation condition chronic venous insufficiency, causing swelling in his legs.
