‘OMG’: Karoline Leavitt Is Leaving, and Trump’s Rumored Plan to Replace Her Has Everyone Saying ‘Nobody Wants That Job’ After Last Time
President Donald Trump critics are running wild with theories about Karoline Leavitt‘s replacement.
Trump’s White House press secretary is set to depart the White House. Leavitt, 28, will leave an open spot on the president’s communication team.
After returning from maternity leave in mid-July, the mother of two announced she’s leaving her post permanently this month.

But many are still wondering: Who will replace Leavitt as the 80-year-old president’s mouthpiece?
Trump reportedly plans to use several senior administration figures to lead future press briefings on his behalf.
Jimmy Fallon, 51, used his “The Tonight Show” monologue on Aug. 18 to offer his comedic analysis of Trump picking a new press secretary.
“Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is on her way out,” the late-night television host told his live studio audience.
He resumed, “But I read that instead of replacing her with one person, Trump might use a rotating cast of officials to handle press briefings, which is code for nobody wants that job.”
Fallon drew light laughter from the crowd before he added signature phrases used by Leavitt’s soon-to-be-ex-boss.
“Honestly, he can save people a lot of time by just having an Alexa up there saying, ‘That’s fake news. Quiet, piggy,” he joked.
At that moment, the Fallon show clip cuts to footage of an Amazon Alexa device on the White House podium. The device repeated Trump’s infamous “fake news” and “quiet, piggy” insults.
Fallon’s takedown of Trump was aimed at his administration, his press secretary, and his loss of popularity, too.
He roasted Trump’s weight, a topic that seems to be triggering for the image-conscious MAGA frontman.
“Well, guys, according to a new poll, President Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 33 percent, the lowest level of his presidency,” Fallon stated.
The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member then joked, “Yeah. I mean, most people like to drop a few for the summer, but this is pretty bad.”
“Yeah, Trump’s approval rating is down to 33 percent. I mean, even diarrhea lettuce is at 34 percent,” Fallon quipped.
Fallon’s latest wisecracks making fun of Trump scored praise from the comedian’s fans. Facebook users have mixed reactions to a clip from the show, including one who said, “Still a third of Americans approve?!!!! OMG.”
Fallon’s latest Trump jokes won praise from his fans, though Facebook users had mixed reactions to the clip. One commenter asked, “Still a third of Americans approve?!!!! OMG.”
Others mocked Trump’s potential replacement for Leavitt. One person said the future press secretary should be described as a “professional liar” whose job would require defending him.
Leavitt, 28, has repeatedly defended Trump during briefings, including when critics accused him of making false claims despite evidence. This opened the door for people to criticize Leavitt and her choice to focus on motherhood.
“Based on DTs behavior, she was already spending time with a baby,” one person joked.
“These jokes write themselves. This administration is a historical punchline,” stated another Trump detractor.
The POTUS still has more than two years left in his second term. He might avoid a third impeachment trial, but his presidency’s final days could bring a wave of turnover.
Several of Trump’s high-profile Cabinet members have already been pushed out the door. He fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi in March and April, respectively.
Leavitt is the latest Trump 2.0 castoff who left on her own terms, as some suspect. She joined his administration as an intern. She worked her way up to national press secretary and then White House Press Secretary.
She said she would leave the administration within weeks to spend more time with her newborn daughter, Viviane.
She and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, also share a 2-year-old, Nicolas Riccio.
Nonetheless, the spectacle of the failed Republican congressional candidate jumping ship as numerous scandals plague her boss raises eyebrows.
Leavitt’s recent post-pregnancy absence put other officials in the press secretary spotlight. The stand-ins had varying degrees of success.
Vice President JD Vance, Medicare and Medicaid chief Dr. Mehmet Oz, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio temporarily replaced her during briefings.
Rubio, 55, appeared flustered during his debut as Leavitt’s substitute in May.
He opened the briefing by admitting he had “no way” to decide which reporter should ask the first question.
Whoever replaces Leavitt as the president’s chief public relations official will step into a difficult role.
The next press secretary must defend Trump daily as he faces backlash over his weakened policy agenda and controversial personal behavior.
For now, the shadow of Leavitt’s highly criticized tenure as White House press secretary looms over the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
“It’s an insane job. It’s a thankless job. And now they’ll have to follow and be constantly compared to Karoline,” an anonymous source told CNN.
Leavitt first announced in March that she was no longer part of Trump’s political team. During a rare moment, she refused to explain or defend Trump before hinting at the recent behind-the-scenes change.
“That’s a question that’s political by nature, as you know, I’m not part of the president’s political team anymore,” Leavitt told the press. “I do sit here at the White House as a government employee.”
Trump has already admitted he’s not too happy about it, since he wants to spend time with his family. But he has yet to announce her official replacement.
