Mariah Carey has fans convinced the holiday season is approaching early after the singer shared her latest end-of-summer photos.

The Queen of Christmas sits just months away from bringing back her signature holiday hits.

But the 57-year-old vocalist may already be getting into character for the annual transformation.

Her latest snapshots have fans wondering if Mariah is already inching closer to the cold season.

The “Heartbreak” singer posted a series of recent photos on X on Aug. 29.

The Grammy-winning singer wore light blue jeans with a white Versace tank top and showed off blond, curly hair. Silver bracelets and a gemstone necklace completed the casual look.

“Summer Moments!” Carey captioned the post, adding sparkle and butterfly emojis.

The photos quickly caught fans’ attention. While many praised Carey’s appearance, others immediately turned the post into a reminder that Christmas is never far away when the singer is involved.

Carey’s annual holiday takeover has become a familiar part of pop culture.

Her 1994 hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” returns to radio stations, playlists, stores and social media every year as the holidays approach.

Fans have even developed an ongoing joke that Carey spends most of the year “hibernating” before emerging when Christmas season begins.

That joke appeared in the comments almost immediately. A second person appeared more than ready for the annual Christmas takeover, commenting, “It’s almost tiiiiiimmmmmeee Mariah” alongside a gif of Carey in a Winter Wonderland.

Carey’s summer post also brought plenty of compliments about her appearance.

Others focused more on her slim waist and curly hair.

Two supporters said, “How’s she still looking this good?” and “Waist small. December never reaches.” A more inquisitive person asked, “Oh, wow, what have you been eating lately?”

The “defrosting” joke has become an annual tradition among Carey’s fans. Each year, memes portray the singer emerging from hibernation as soon as the calendar approaches November.

Once Christmas ends, the joke reverses, with fans imagining Carey retreating until the next holiday season.

The reaction shows just how closely Carey remains tied to the holiday season. Her Christmas hit has become so closely associated with the end of the year that even a late-August fashion post was enough to get fans talking about its return.

For now, Carey appears to still be enjoying summer. But judging by the comments, her fans are already preparing for the moment when the Christmas queen officially “defrosts.”

As previously reported, Mariah Carey was last the subject of viral speculation after her appearance at Gucci’s fashion show in New York City sparked concern among fans over the way she moved during the event.

Carey attended the May 16 show in Times Square wearing a cream Gucci coat, black top and satin pants, paired with her signature blond hair and jewelry. The event marked 70 years since Gucci opened its first international boutique in New York.

While many praised her appearance, a video showing Carey being assisted as she removed her coat and sat down caught viewers’ attention.

Some fans focused on what they described as her stiff movements and questioned whether she was experiencing discomfort.

“She’s having a very difficult time taking off her jacket that’s for sure. I hope she’s OK,” one person wrote.

Another commenter said, “She’s always handled like she’s made of glass and it does seem like something may be wrong I hope she’s ok cause this is getting weird to watch.” A separate fan added, “She always looks like she is in pain lately…slow movement too.” 

Carey has also dealt with a serious injury in the past. She fell in 2013 while wearing heels during the filming of the music video for the remix of “Beautiful.” She later told Extra that she had downplayed how serious the accident was.

“It was very serious and I downplayed the seriousness of the situation. I dislocated my shoulder, my ribs. There was nerve damage,” Carey said.
