‘Not Letting This Slide’: Fundraiser Raises Nearly $120K for Holdout Black Juror in Lindsay Clancy Trial as Reports Put His Own Past in the Spotlight
A new fundraiser for the lone Black juror whose holdout vote forced a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has raised more than $117,000.
The GiveSendGo campaign is to assist the unidentified juror with potential legal fees, security, and lost income after he refused to join 11 fellow panelists in acquitting Clancy by reason of insanity.
It comes after reports surfaced about the male juror’s history of domestic violence allegations, while other jurors continue to scrutinize him.
The online fundraiser aims to raise $150,000 for the unidentified juror, described only as a Black man in his 30s, to cover security, legal fees, and lost wages stemming from potential fallout from the trial.
The juror refused to agree with the 11 other jurors that Clancy was not guilty by reason of temporary insanity. The 36-year-old former nurse strangled her three young children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — in the family’s Massachusetts home in January 2023.
After seven days of deliberations, the judge declared a mistrial.

“One juror held his seat. He looked at what she did, not the brand of Zoloft. So, the defense demanded the judge throw him off the jury for “not following reasonable doubt,” a statement for the fundraiser, started by Tom Hennessey, said.
It’s unclear if the fundraiser organizer knows the Black juror personally.
“The judge left him on. The jury hung. Mistrial. Now she can be tried again for killing her children instead of getting a standing ovation for her symptoms. We’re not letting this slide,” the statement continued.
Days after the mistrial, reports came out about the Black juror’s past history, including allegations of domestic violence.
The juror faced a criminal charge for assaulting his wife in September 2021, according to NBC10.
However, prosecutors dropped the charges after his wife refused to testify, fearing she would lose custody of her daughter.
The juror also has an active restraining order and has not paid rent since March, according to the outlet.
Along with the allegations, fellow jurors have also given insight into what went on in the deliberation room.
A fellow male juror says the Black juror shocked him by wrapping one of the exercise bands Clancy used to kill her children around a water bottle, apparently demonstrating the strangulation.
Many people online have securitized NBC10 for their report on the Black juror, including Florida Gov. Ron Desantis.
“A man objected to allowing a woman to kill her three young kids and get away with it, so NBC is trying to smear that juror, whose identity should be protected. Another low for legacy media,” Desantis wrote on X.
He went on to offer the Black juror asylum in Florida. “If the juror is being harassed, Florida will provide asylum — I’m sure he’d be welcomed and appreciated.”
Clancy’s attorney has since publicly requested a pardon from President Donald Trump, hoping to draw high-level attention to the case despite the state-level nature of the charges. She remains in a state-run psychiatric facility. Her next hearing is Sept. 29.
