Welcome to Wendy’s?: Wendy Williams Reportedly Is Trying to Open a Restaurant
Months after “The Wendy Williams Show” ended last June after 13 years on air, its long-time eponymous host announced a new podcast, “The Wendy Experience,” as part of her return to the spotlight after ongoing battles with her health and substance abuse. However, it seems that the iconic television show host might also be looking into opening up her own restaurant as well.
According to veteran “Good Day New York” anchor Rosanna Scotto, who spoke with Page Six, Williams has inquired about the hospitality business and sought out the co-owner Fresco by Scotto co-owner for help.

“She loves the meatballs at Fresco,” the 64-year-old television personality told the publication, before adding, “and the last time I talked to her, she’s like, ‘OK, Rosanna, I am coming to Fresco, and I want the meatballs, and then you’re going to help me open up my own restaurant.’ And I’m like, ‘What, sister, you wanna take my people away to your restaurant?’”
Scotto joked that she wasn’t sure if Williams “wants me to waitress or what.” However, she maintained that the “Think Like a Man” actress “did tell me she wants to open her own restaurant and she wants me to help.” The “Ransom” actress added, “If there is [a restaurant] from Wendy, it will be big competition, but I love her.”
Last August, Williams dropped a clip promoting the new series on the podcast’s Instagram page. “Co-hosts, I’m famous, and I’ll be back. Trust me,” Williams shared in the short clip before Ma$e’s “Welcome Back” began playing in the background. She continued in the caption, “TRUST ME, I will be BACK!.” She added the hashtags #wendyexperiencepodcast #welcome #back #stay #positive #cohost #nyc.
However, the post drew more concerns than expected. Many pointed out that the former radio DJ, who sported a full face of makeup, did not look well, while others felt the video was forced. The show will be executive produced by her manager, Will Selby.
Although fans haven’t been quite as open to her new manager, Williams often credits Selby as the person who introduced her to the podcast game. As of this writing, it’s unclear when “The Wendy Experience” will premiere.
