LaTocha Scott of the trailblazing ’90s R&B girl group Xscape left fans wanting some understanding as to why she wasn’t dressed in coordination with her band mates Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, and sister Tamika Scott during their recent red carpet appearance at this year’s Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas, where they accepted the prestigious Lady of Soul award.

While it doesn’t air until Saturday, Nov. 26, taping for the annual ceremony celebrating soul and R&B took place over the weekend. The quartet appeared on the red carpet looking dazzling as ever, but one thing was evident — not everyone was on the same page. Kandi, Tiny, and Tamika all appeared wearing similar champagne-colored dresses, while LaTocha wore a bright green gown complete with a gold belt.

Fans quickly took to the comment section where they reacted to the incident, including one online user who wrote, “You didn’t get the memo, but your BLOOD sister is in the group…. whom I’m sure you might talk to regularly didn’t tell you, y’all must be beefing.”

Another person quipped, “Lotocha was giving David Ruffin Vibes She was like I am Latosha Scott, and these are the Xscape Girls.”

LaTocha later took to her Instagram page, sharing a group photo. She left a lengthy caption about the experience, writing, “Still on a high from last night” and how grateful she was to “receive the #LadyOfSoul Award. To still be embraced after 29 years is very humbling.” To close out her post, the  “Can’t Hang” singer addressed the bubbling topic, writing, “**Sorry, I didn’t get the memo, but everyone still looked amazing.”

Fans also noticed that Kandi was not tagged in her post, including one person who wrote, “So we just supposed to ignore that Kandi wasn’t tagged? I guess chile. No more Xscape reality shows. If it’s going to do more harm than good DON’T DO IT!”

“LaTocha and her husband have always been the problem. I said what I said, lol,” added another.

Tension appeared to brew for some time after the group decided to go on a small tour. However, LaTocha dropped out of several upcoming shows. But TMZ reports the group has not broken up. Instead, the singer said she decided against participating with the girls and distanced herself completely after her husband and talent manager, Rocky Bevins, got into it with the tour’s promoter.
