Footage shows JD as the first to be snatched offstage to the left by two men. During Vance’s exit, two Secret Service men plunged toward the same table at which Trump was sitting.
Melania was left hiding under the table before crawling to safety with other people left behind on the dais, says WHCA president Weijia Jiang. Meanwhile, security dragged a collapsing Trump out of the room.
Social media users raised alarms over Melania as well as Usha and Karoline Leavitt, who are both pregnant.
“Poor Melania and Karoline. Was Usha there but not on the dias?” one person asked on X.

A woman in a red dress was seen getting on the floor just as Vance was being whisked away.
“Who are the women in the white dress, red dress and where is Melania and Usha?” a third person wrote.
The white and silver dress belonged to WHCA president Weijia Jiang. Fox News host Jacqui Heinrich sat near Vance in a red dress as part of her role as a board treasurer and event host.
Reports that the first lady and Usha — who is expecting her fourth child — were in harm’s way sparked the most concern online. Some even zoomed in on how terrifying Melania looked as chaos broke out in the room.

News of the shooting rattled the moment, raising concerns about who could have been caught in the chaos. President Trump addressed the incident in a briefing later, outlining details about the shooter.
Melania, Karoline, JD, and others appeared on the sidelines, cracking smiles as the press closely watched. Usha was not present.
Second lady and first lady are no strangers to that kind of spotlight. This marks their second return to the Washington Hilton after their joint appearance at the First Lady’s Luncheon.
