‘The 2 Shady Babies’: Gabrielle Union’s and Tia Mowry’s Daughters’ Play Date Takes Social Media by Storm, Fans Gush Over the Clips
Tia Mowry and Gabrielle Union made millions of their fans’ day on Feb. 28 after the duo shared different videos of their 2-year-old daughters Kaavia James Union Wade and Cairo Hardrict hanging out for the first time. Many fans suggested weeks ago that the tots should meet after Mowry shared a throwback photo of Cairo refusing to smile.
Union initially shared the first recording of the two girls driving around in a toy car with the caption, “The playdate we’ve all been waiting for When @kaaviajames met Cairo!!! Bringing the girls together was magic and pure sweetness and comedy! @tiamowry @coryhardrict@dwyanewade #BlackGirlMagic.”
Mowry replied to the upload by saying, “ The best time EVER!!!! @gabunion ”
The “Family Reunion” actress later posted an Instagram reel — a 15-second multi-clip video — of the toddlers’ first meeting with Saweetie’s 2021 hit “Best Friend” as the background track. In the clip, Kaavia and Cairo hug each other as they run to go play. The mother of two raved about the “play date” while captioning the recording “Let the #fun begin! @kaaviajames and #cairo had an epic #playdate for the books! Thanks @gabunion for making #cairos day!”
Many fans expressed their excitement about the shadiest babies uniting.
“Omgggggg!!! I have been waiting for this!!! The 2 shady babies .”
“This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing! Warms my heart. Two lil Queens getting a chance to know each other and play .”
“OMG the two faves in one place!!!”
“Two beautiful dollbabies!!! I have been waiting to see this playdate. I’m sure there was lots of cuteness and joyful giggles. ”
“I’ve been waiting for this link up! Lol both babies came out unbothered/ unimpressed with the world lol (honestly don’t blame them ) They’re so freaking cuuutteee.”
As many fans fawned over the adorable toddlers, a couple of people brought up how long Union and Mowry have known each other. Union was a guest star several times on Mowry’s 1990s “Sister, Sister” sitcom with twin sister Tamera Mowry.
One wrote, “The fact y’all were on “Sister, Sister” together and now y’all daughters can play together, is so beautiful! ”
Another said, “Sister, Sister” days.”
Last year, Union dedicated her Woman Crush Wednesday (#WCW) to the Mowry twins while revealing she’s been friends with them for over 25 years. She said: “Today’s #WCW’s I have had the pleasure of knowing for almost 25 years… @tiamowry @tameramowrytwo . I worked on Sister, Sister at the beginning of my career, and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. It has been amazing to watch all they have accomplished throughout their careers. They are Pepperdine grads, producers, actors, hosts, wives, suoer mamas and so much more.”
