While the 34-year-old is turning back the hands of time, Solange admitted that she struggled with her body image two years ago. Around the time she released her fourth studio project, ‘When I Get Home,” Solange was asked on Twitter where was she spiritually with the record, and she replied: “My body took a lot from me when I started this record – real scary times, I’ll tell y’all one day.”

She added, “I had to learn to accept a lot of things about myself & this short time we got here. I had some really ugly parts I need (& still need) to work thru.”

Solange went on to say that through the album, she “tried” to do work that would bring her the most joy and confront things she was afraid of, and she still has further to go.

It seems that Solange has gone through a spiritual awakening, and while she may have more work to do, she’s clearly in a space where she’s accepted her body and isn’t afraid to share herself with the world.
