The Olympic champion shared a lighthearted recovery update with husband Jonathan Owens, but has not said whether the procedure was connected to her June emergency.

Simone Biles is giving fans an update on her health.

Seven weeks after saying she “almost died” during a health scare in June, Biles shared a photo of her in hospital scrubs alongside her husband Jonathan Owens after undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure earlier this week.

Biles shared the black-and-white photograph on Instagram Stories the following day. Owens accompanied her on his 31st birthday, a gesture she acknowledged with a playful message: “His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure,” People reported.

The 29-year-old gymnast also joked that she woke from the procedure singing BossMan Dlow’s “Talk My S–t.” She did not disclose what the procedure involved, why it was needed or whether it was connected to the medical emergency she described in June.

On June 6, Biles posted a photograph showing hospital wristbands around her arm and said she had spent the week resting in bed after one of the most frightening experiences of her life. She wrote that “almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card” and said the situation was especially difficult because Owens was in Indianapolis for football practices.

Biles thanked people in her close circle who checked on her, visited and sent flowers while she recovered. She told followers that she might explain what happened later, but when a fan asked for an update about a week afterward, she replied that she was not ready to discuss it. Biles has implored boundaries with her millions of followers online, using social media to give them glimpses into her world, but only what she chooses to share.

Biles kept the medical details behind her original disclosure private. Since then, she has returned to public appearances, including attending the 2026 ESPYS with Owens in New York.
