‘She Never Gives Up’: Gabrielle Union Shared Touching Post About Learning from Daughter Kaavia
The road to motherhood had been a rough one for actress Gabrielle Union. After suffering multiple miscarriages, unsuccessful experiences with IVF, and eventually being diagnosed with adenomyosis — a disease that could sometimes cause infertility — Union and her husband Dwyane Wade welcomed a sweet baby girl, Kaavia James Union Wade, by way of a surrogate.
Since her birth in 2018, Kaavia has made a place in the hearts of millions on social media thanks to her hilarious antics and sharp side-eyes, earning herself the nickname “Shady Baby.” The “Bring It On” star revealed she gained a lot from her journey, and recently she took her Instagram page where she spoke about what she’s learned from her precious 2-year-old.
In a lengthy caption accompanied by a playful clip of Kaavia playing in her backyard, Union penned, “I constantly learn life lessons from @kaaviajames She insists on mastering skills on her own terms. She never gives up. She never gets too discouraged.”
Union described the toddler as being resilient, stating that, “She just picks herself up time and time again, no matter how many times she falls on her face. She just gets back up, dusts herself off and keeps it pushing.” She continued, “She also seems to find joy in the missteps, like she knows the lows are temporary and necessary for growth.”
The actress concluded her note wishing everyone a happy start to their weekend and proposed that “we all be kinder to ourselves and others as we find our way and figure out this thing called life.” Near the end she said, “Cheers to everyone whose ever lost the battle of pants with their toddler. Or as an adult. I see you .”
Those familiar with the famous toddler are well aware of her effortless spotlight-stealing nature. The comments section proved this out, as many showered the little one with praise and love, including writer Danielle Young, who commented, “I’ve never wanted to be friends with someone so much since Blue Ivy .”
Another user wrote, “Awww you can tell she’s so loved. Love grows confident children..”
“She so smart & full of energy I love her little self Keep pushingg Kaav @kaaviajames,” a third expressed.
