Jennie’s backlash continues
As theGrio reported yesterday, the freshman housewife on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is in some serious hot water. After past Facebook posts filled with anti-Black Lives Matter, anti-vax and racist rhetoric resurfaced, many fans are calling for the housewife to be fired, and now her cast mates have begun to chime in on the matter.
Jen Shah, who has been the center of the drama this season, took to Instagram to address Nguyen’s posts.
She wrote, “…since my RHOSLC cast member has admitted that she made those horrible comments and posts, I must now stand up, on behalf of my husband and sons who are African American, to say that I am deeply offended by the racially insensitive posts and comment.”
Nguyen issued an apology yesterday, but Shah called that out as well in her post. “I am equally disappointed by the disingenuous apology that was issued,” Shah wrote. “Needless to say, we have some real s— to talk about.”
Meredith Marks and Whitney Rose also released statements regarding the posts, but theirs did not directly reference or mention Jennie.
Meet Mya Allen
Bravo’s series Summer House is back for its sixth season, and Monday night’s premiere introduced fans to one of the newest cast members, Mya Allen. Last year, Summer House brought in their first Black housemate, Ciara Miller, who has since become quite the reality star, appearing in the spin-off series, Winter House, a few months ago.
With Allen, the show is continuing to diversify its previously all-white cast and she has no problem fitting in with the group on the premiere episode.
After just getting out of an engagement (to Top Chef‘s Kwame Onwuachi, no less), she appears ready to have a good time during her Hamptons summer. We’ll be keeping our eyes on Allen and Miller as the season continues on Bravo.
Kandi’s reign continues
While The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been filming for its upcoming season, Bravo is still giving fans RHOA-related content. They recently aired Porsha’s Family Matters, which followed former real housewife Porsha Williams, and now the network is getting ready to air Kandi & The Gang, its latest spin-off following Kandi Burruss and her OLG restaurant in Atlanta.
By the looks of the trailer, the series will have plenty of antics and drama for viewers to eat up. In addition to the staff taking center stage in the series, the show also stars Burruss’ family, including the OLGs themselves, Mama Joyce Jones, Aunt Nora Wilcox and Aunt Bertha Jones.
All about Noella
Noella Bergener seems to be the biggest catalyst of drama in this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Outside of her own divorce drama, she’s having the most trouble connecting with some women in the group, specifically Dr. Jen Armstrong and returning housewife Heather Dubrow.
In the mid-season trailer Bravo dropped this week, the friction between Bergener and the other women is just beginning, with Dubrow referring to her as “a thirsty girl.”
