Monique Samuels Confirms She Will ‘Never’ Return to the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’: ‘Some of These Ladies Have Done Some Really Nasty, Disgusting Things’
It isn’t rare when reality stars return to their respective reality shows after a brief hiatus. However, Monique Samuels recently revealed that the chances of seeing her on the “Real Housewives of Potomac” are less than likely.
Following an explosive fifth season that included a brawl with cast mate Candiace Dillard and a war of words with Gizelle Bryant and her ex-husband Jamal H. Bryant, Monique decided that it was best to walk away from the Bravo franchise. She made the not-so-shocking announcement via an Instagram Live session on Dec. 27, 2020.
Most recently, the “Not For Lazy Moms” podcaster sat down with blog site HollywoodLife for an episode of “TVTalk on Instagram Live,” where she confirmed that she would never return to “RHOP,” saying, “I am not interested in that at all.”
She continued, “I will never be back on that show because too much has happened, and to me if people were very genuine and if they really felt any type of remorse as they try to hold me accountable to show remorse at a time that I wasn’t ready. Some of these ladies have done some really nasty, disgusting things, and I’ve not had one apology in my direction. My husband has not been apologized to.”
Monique and her husband, Chris Samuels, had accused some cast members of spreading a rumor claiming that Chris was not the father of his youngest child. The rumors also claimed that Monique had had an affair with her fitness trainer, who supposedly is the father. Neither the rumor nor storyline made its way onto the season. However, Monique and Chris maintained that the women were plotting against them.
Despite all the drama that unfolded, Monique was still willing to return for season 6, but later changed her mind. “The tip of the iceberg for me was that third part of the reunion!” she explained. “When they asked me to come back, I was like, ‘Oh, OK, well let me go ahead and come back and redeem myself and have a great season 6,’ and I had the intention and the hopes that they would show what really happened for the last, final part of the reunion. And when that didn’t happen, I was like, ‘Wow. Why am I here exactly?’ I’m not here for the money. I’m here for the platform.”
She added, “I’m like, ‘This is just too much!’ The hate is real, so I was like, ‘You know what? I don’t have to deal with this, so I’m not.’”
The reality star says she has zero regrets about her decision. Check out the interview down below where Monique shares who she felt was protected and what scenes were left out of the reunion.
