‘Love Island USA’s’ Trinity Tatum shuts down rumor she was escorted out of reunion taping
The Season 8 winner is shutting down online speculation after social media users claimed she was removed from the set during the highly anticipated reunion special.
The “Love Island USA” rumor mill has been working overtime, but Season 8 winner Trinity Tatum is already shutting down rumors about what allegedly went down during filming.
According to US Weekly reports, after speculation spread online following Monday’s reunion taping that Tatum had been removed from the set after an alleged altercation with bombshell Sol Dean, the reality star addressed the claims directly in the comments of a social media post discussing the rumors.
“This is not true idk where this info came from lmaoo,” Tatum, 22, commented on the TikTok post sharing the claim, according to Us Weekly.
Tatum later addressed the speculation again through her Instagram channel, making it clear that she wasn’t just disputing the claim that she was removed from the reunion, but also the alleged confrontation itself.
“I hate I even have to say this but don’t believe everything on the net lol I did not get escorted out,” Tatum wrote. “Also we never had an altercation but goodnight my loves.”
The rumor emerged after the “Love Island USA” cast reunited in Los Angeles to film the Season 8 reunion. An unverified account of the taping began making the rounds online, claiming Tatum and Dean got into an argument and that Melanie Moreno stepped in before Tatum was allegedly escorted out.
A screenshot of Tatum’s Instagram response was also shared to Reddit, where “Love Island USA” fans discussed the supposed “leak” and Tatum’s decision to clear things up before the reunion airs.
There is some history between Tatum and Dean that may have helped fuel speculation about tension between them.
During an appearance on “Love Island USA: Aftersun” this season, Dean raised eyebrows when she suggested Tatum’s boyfriend, Bryce Alakai Dettloff, might find Kayda Bosse more attractive.
“I think Bryce probably thinks Kayda is prettier than Trinity,” Dean said during the appearance.
Tatum later addressed Dean’s comment during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” where she was asked about the remark after leaving the villa.
Tatum and Dettloff ultimately had the last laugh. The couple, who connected during the first episode of Season 8, were crowned the winners during the July 12 finale after receiving America’s vote. The pair took home the season’s $100,000 prize.
They joined Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt, Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea, and Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou as the season’s four finalist couples.
Fans will have to wait a few more weeks to find out what actually happened when the Islanders come face-to-face again. The reunion was filmed Aug. 10 in Los Angeles following a red carpet event the previous day and, for the first time in the show’s history, was taped in front of a live audience.
