The unscripted reality series sees 10 dancers competition to join the “Truth Hurts” singer as a backup dancer on her next tour

Lizzo is making some major moves! The pop star has officially brought an unscripted competition series, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, to Prime Video, which sees the singer searching for dancers for her upcoming tour.

This series is the first project to come out of her first-look deal with the streamer that was first announced in August 2020, as reported by Variety. Under the exciting deal, Lizzo is set to debut multiple television projects exclusively for Prime Video. With Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, the “Truth Hurts” singer dives into the reality competition genre, with what is sure to be a popular series for fans to tune into this spring.

The series finds Lizzo, “on the hunt for confident, bad-ass women to join the elite ranks of the Big Grrrls and join her world tour.” The women, who live in the “Big Grrrls House” during the competition, have to then prove themselves not only to the “Rumors” singer herself, but in front of various choreographers in order to show they have what it takes to travel the world with one of the biggest acts in music today.

Joining Lizzo in the series are choreographers Tanisha Scott and “O.G. Big Grrrls” Chawnta’ Marie Van, Shirlene Quigley, and Grace Holden. The show will also feature some very special guests including singer/songwriter SZA, choreographer Charm La’Donna, and body movement expert Rashida KhanBey Miller.

Lizzo gushes in the trailer, “I’m looking for dancers to join me on my tour. Girls who look like me don’t get representation…it’s time to pull up my sleeves and find them myself.” From the looks of the trailer, the competitors are ready to lay it all out there in order to join Lizzo’s “Big Grrrls” family. One of them shares in the trailer, “To be a background dancer for Lizzo would just mean everything.”

The clip also teases some emotional moments, as the show works to reframe conventional beauty and help empower the competitors through self-love, something Lizzo has long been a loud advocate for. “It’s time to show the world how we do it,” Lizzo quips at the end. “Watch out for the big girls!”

Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls premieres Friday, March 25 on Prime Video.
