‘I’m Your Boss’: Bow Wow Tweets and Deletes Message Questioning Why Andrea Kelly Continues to Appear in ‘Growing Up Hip-Hop: Atlanta’
Bow Wow put “Growing Up Hip-Hop: Atlanta” regular Andrea “Drea” Kelly on the spot when he tweeted then deleted a post calling her relevance to the show into question.
The rapper, who is credited as one of many executive producers of the series in addition to being a cast member, appeared to randomly take aim at the dancer and ex-wife of disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly by questioning why she’s on the show at all since, according to him, “her only claim to fame” is her past relationship with the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer.
“Why is Drea Kelly even on #guhhatl she’s like 62 and her only claim to fame is well…and how long you gone ride that wave? just saying. Dont forget im your boss,” he shared before deleting the message, although not quick enough for the screenshots to live on.
Kelly, 47, has appeared in the series as a supporting cast member since season three along with her three children, daughter Buku Abi, born Joann Kelly, Kyd, born Robert Kelly Jr., and Jaah, following their move to Atlanta. Their current storyline follows Drea and Buku’s journey to continue their own careers separate from the embattled singer.
Fans weren’t here for the “Shorty Like Mine” rapper calling out Kelly and reminded him that as the “boss,” he should keep it professional.
“He not lying but as a BOSS KEEP IT RESPECTABLE real bosses don’t do this”
“How you her boss and don’t know how she on the show? ”
“Boward Woward needs to keep it cute. Why your momma on the show??”
“Same reason you on there and ain’t released a album in 13 years”
Some followers did agree with Bow, however, and admitted they’ve also wondered why Drea continues to pop up in the show.
“I mean, he just asked what we all wanna know ”
“He definitely has a point i’m just saying ”
At the time of this writing, Drea had not addressed Bow Wow’s comments.
The current season of “Growing Up Hip-Hop: Atlanta” airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. EST on WE tv.
