‘I Wasn’t There to Fit In’: Kim Fields Talks ‘RHOA,’ Kenya Moore and Reveals Which Housewife She Still Talks To
Actress and one-and-done “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kim Fields recently appeared on an episode of “The Wendy Williams Show” while promoting her latest project, “The Upshaws.” During that time she dished about her time on the Bravo reality series and her relationship with former cast mates.
When asked by Wendy if her marriage had survived the drama-filled season she was on, which included disrespectful remarks made about her husband, the “Living Single” star said, “everything survived.”
She continued, “What’s so funny is I know you said in the intro that you didn’t like me on it, but here’s what’s so surprising: number one, that people are still talking about it and number two, that people always say ‘You didn’t fit in.’” To that comment, Kim says she “wasn’t there to fit in.”
Talking to the daytime television host, she said, “Just like if you do become a friend to the Miami chicks, first of all, you can’t fit in, OK? You’re Wendy Williams, you’re a force, so there’s that.” The actress added, “But I’m serious, girl, sometimes it’s nice to just have a new fresh energy to something and especially for that very powerful franchise. And remember when I told you, I wasn’t there to fit in, probably one and done, because I had other sh-t to do and, you know, to keep it pushing. But yeah, girl, we ain’t there to fit in. We there to do us.”
Regarding her relationship with her former cast mates, Kim revealed that she and Cynthia Bailey have kept in touch thanks to their business backgrounds. “Cynthia and I have done a couple of things together because we’re both entrepreneurs, and we both have similar types of businesses.” She added, “So, she has this wonderful wine bar in Georgia, in Atlanta, and I have my coffee line Signature Blends by KF, and so we’ve done a couple of co-branding things and also some entrepreneur events.”
However, when it came to Kenya Moore, who was always at odds with the actress during her tenure on season 8 of the show, Kim said the only time she would “run into Kenya” is if she is scrolling on the internet and she happens to be on there.
The clip was later shared by blog site The Peach Report Daily, where fans chimed in on the exchange, including one user who wrote, “Oh baby, ‘everything survived’ … Kim got Wendy together quick.” Another user commented, “Kim was classy and shady towards Wendy at the same time lol…” They added, “But she didn’t lie!! Different can be a good thing.”
“Kim basically said she would’ve never bumped into Kenya because she was busy making money ,” a third wrote.
