Rudy Giuliani Returns To Court After Missing Deadline To Surrender Assets

Poor Rudy Giuliani has been having a rough go of it ever since he went $148 million in debt to former Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea Arshaye “Shaye” Moss, who he, along with President-elect Donald Trump, defamed with erroneous claims that they engaged in fraud during the 2020 presidential race. While the “big lie” helped get Trump elected to the White House for the second time — although he and Giuliani would both lie and say it was the third — the ex-NYC mayor has been disgraced, disbarred, denied a bankruptcy claim, and denounced by his own lawyers. He’s been broken down and stripped of his assets, which he now owes to Freeman and Moss.

And, y’all, Giuliani is sick of it!

The former head of Trump’s bumbling circus car of a legal team got angry with the judge in court on Tuesday, all because the officer of the court was doing his job by looking to collect what Giuliani owes.

From NBC News:

Speaking after U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman said the former personal lawyer to Donald Trump had not been complying with court orders to surrender his assets, Giuliani snapped: “The implications you are making against me are wrong. I have no car, no credit card, no cash, everything I have is tied up. They have put stop orders on my business accounts, and I can’t pay my bills.”

The judge said Giuliani did not appear to be indigent and warned him against any further outbursts.
Giuliani’s new attorney, Joseph Cammarata, said the former New York City mayor had turned over one of the assets — a 1980 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 that used to belong to Hollywood icon Lauren Bacall. Aaron Nathan, an attorney for Freeman and Moss, said Giuliani had surrendered the car, but not the title.
The judge said the title must be turned over. “A car without a title is meaningless,” Liman said, questioning why Giuliani hadn’t been able to get a new one.
“Your client is a competent person. He was the U.S. attorney in the district. The notion that he can’t apply for a title certificate … ” the judge told Cammarata before Giuliani cut him off and started his rant.
“I did apply for it!” Giuliani barked, shaking his head. “What am I supposed to do, make it up myself? Your implication that I have not been diligent about it is totally incorrect,” he continued, before complaining about his financial woes.
Attorneys for the election workers have said they have a similar paperwork issue with Giuliani’s co-op apartment in Manhattan. While the receivers have gotten access to the apartment, which is estimated to be worth over $5 million, Giuliani “still has not delivered the keys, stock, or proprietary lease,” they said in a court filing.

When Giuliani began helping Trump spread election interference propaganda far and wide, and he made the decision to include Freeman and Moss in their ridiculous scene, he didn’t expect that he would end up in court performing his best rendition of Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills.” He probably didn’t know he’d be out here giving a judge the old “application is in the mail” routine.

Giuliani is essentially scolding the judge for not feeling sorry for him when he’s lucky the American justice system doesn’t treat him the way it treats poor Black people — otherwise, he would have gotten the stop-and-frisk treatment right there in the courtroom.

As it turns out, Giuliani has delivered on some of the assets he was ordered to turn over. Attorneys for Freeman and Moss said in a court filing that the defendant “has delivered 18 watches and one diamond ring to the address provided by the Receivers.”

You got a $148 million tab and all you’ve given up is a little bit of jewelry? Nah, somebody turn that man’s pockets inside out. Take him by the legs and shake out his loose change. What you got on my 40, homie?

All jokes aside, Giuliaini’s journey of L’s has been a tremendous one.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy!
