Nearly two decades ago, vocalist Susan Boyle blew the world away with her beautiful voice on “Britain’s Got Talent.”

She left judge Simon Cowell with his mouth nearly on the floor at her audition, while Amanda Holden stood up multiple times to give her an ovation during the middle of the performance. Piers Morgan complimented her at the end, calling her voice “the biggest surprise [he has] had in three years on this show.”

The mezzo-soprano singing sensation finished the talent competition in second place in 2009 but stole the hearts of many that year with her voice and her curly dark hair, which most still recognize her for. But that’s all over now.

Since stepping away from the show, Boyle, who turned 65 on April 1, has steadily reworked her look, moving far beyond the curly style fans first remember. She once traded it in for sleeker, deeper brown tones with soft curls, then gradually lightened things up with blond highlights before landing on an ash blond phase.

Now, she’s switching it up again—this time sticking with blonde, but dialing it in differently. Boyle took what appears to be a social media break since her last posting on Dec. 31.

Boyle returned last week with a noticeably refreshed feel, pointing to the enhancements of a more toned-down blond shade.

From the looks of her page, she first tested out the hairstyle last summer before bringing it back toward the end of the year. She showed it off in a Christmas post, then followed up two days later with a “Happy Birthday” video for Timothée Chalamet.

By Christmas Eve, she was thanking fans ahead of the New Year, and in her most recent post on Feb. 27, she shifted focus to showing support for the nonprofit Street Soccer Scotland.

In the Instagram photo, Boyle smiled at the camera with her hands on her hips in one of their shirts and wrote, “I’m so proud to support the wonderful charity @streetsoccerscotland.”

After expressing her joy that she was able to get one of their limited edition shirts, she convinced others to grab one as well. “Every shirt sold helps give people experiencing homelessness hope and the chance to create positive change through football. We’re all on the same team,” she said before sharing where they could purchase.

But some people were too focused on her youthful glow to worry consider the nonprofit.

One person said, “How does she look younger yeah for you Ms. Boyle.”

Someone replied to them and said, “The blonde hair, maybe.”

Another person who seemed shocked by her appearance said, “OMG, are you Benjamin Button? Looking so youthful and really pretty in your cute tee.” “Benjamin Button” is a 2008 film that tells a story about an elderly man who ages in reverse.

Someone else further in her comments wrote, “Wow!!! You look different..love the look….”

Though she hasn’t been posting on her profile page as much lately she has been keeping fans informed via her Instagram Story.

This year Boyle celebrated her April Fool’s Day birthday by releasing her first line of merchandise to fans. Among the items on her online store are shirts and hoodies with her name or initials on them, as well as tote bags, mugs, and hats.
