The ladies of the iconic rap group Salt-N-Pepa haven’t been seeing eye-to-eye with their third member DJ Spinderella. With the Queens native set to receive the prestigious star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, fans of the legendary ’80s group are calling for a cease-fire and calling upon the trio to reconcile their differences.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced earlier this week that the famed Grammy Award-winning emcee would receive recognition in the Recording category. A few days later, the official Instagram page for the hip-hop veterans shared editorial coverage of the upcoming ceremony on November 4.

One thing was sure: Many fans believed the honor was well overdue, including one Instagram user who wrote, “Well it’s about time!!!! Well deserved! Congratulations, ladies!” On Twitter, another fan commented with, “Finally some recognition for the original trendsetters in this game. Doing numbers since the 80’s. The original Queens.”

Supporters also appeared to agree that Spinderella should attend the ceremony honoring Salt-N-Pepa next month, including one critic who wrote, “They need to swallow their pride and have Spinderella.”

Another added, “The way they trying to write spinderella out of this is wrong. Put some respect on her name too. She was a very big part of this group and I grew up when they came out. #spinderella matters.”

As previously reported, in 2019, the group’s long-standing third member, Spinderella, left the band. She then sued her former group members for allegedly failing to pay her royalties and for breach of contract. Tensions were further escalated after the entertainer revealed she was excluded from the process of making the “Salt-N-Pepa” Lifetime biopic.

Despite the fallout, fans are still hopeful the ladies can put their differences aside and reunite.

Legendary emcee Missy Elliott congratulated the ladies on Twitter, writing that they inspired her to become a rapper. “What a blessing to be beside Salt-N-Pepa, who inspired me to rap,” she wrote in a sweet post. “My sisters for over [two] decades [and] they took a lot of criticism coming in this game to make the female emcees after them walk through the door a lot easier. Thank you, S&P. RESPECT.”
