Beyoncé surprises fans with ‘Morning Dew (Donk)’ remix pack featuring JAY-Z
The four-track release includes JAY-Z’s first officially released verse since 2022 and an acoustic version of the song.
Weeks after dropping a new song, “Morning Dew (Donk),” Beyoncé dropped a surprise four-track remix pack released overnight Wednesday (August 5), giving fans new versions of the song.
Parkwood Entertainment announced the release Tuesday night, while Billboard reported that the project reached streaming services early Wednesday. The track list includes “MORNING DEW (DONK) REMIX” featuring JAŸ-Z, “MORNING DEW (DONK MIX),” “MORNING DEW (DONK) ACOUSTIC 4:44” and a clean version of the JAŸ-Z remix.
Apple Music lists the project at four songs and 16 minutes. The explicit and clean remixes both feature Jay-Z, credited as JAŸ-Z, while the remaining tracks offer a longer mix and a stripped-back acoustic version.
The featured remix marks Jay-Z’s first officially released verse since his appearance on DJ Khaled’s “God Did” in 2022. GQ described the new production as a more energetic reworking of Beyoncé’s original, with elements associated with Sheck Wes’ “Mo Bamba,” Soulja Boy’s “Donk” and the Isley Brothers’ “Between the Sheets.”
Beyoncé officially released “Morning Dew (Donk)” on July 4 after the song circulated unofficially for years. Parkwood said the single began a 60-day countdown to the 20th-anniversary edition of “B’Day,” which was originally released on Sept. 4, 2006.
Reactions to the “Morning Dew” remixes quickly centered on the different versions. One listener praised the acoustic cut as “so good,” while another fan account called the remix “insanely good.” Other responses were more divided over Jay-Z’s return, with some welcoming a new Carter collaboration and others saying they preferred Beyoncé’s solo recording.
For now, the Beyoncé remix pack extends the life of “Morning Dew (Donk)” and gives listeners four ways to hear the track as the “B’Day” anniversary countdown continues.
