‘Aging Backwards’: Fans Compliment Tia Mowry on Her Good Looks and Style After She Reveals Beautiful Bantu Knot Hairstyle
Tia Mowry is coming through with more heat for her Instagram followers. On Tuesday, Feb. 9, she posted two photos of herself wearing braided Bantu knots all over her head. The first photo was a close-up, which gave fans a good view of what makeup was used on her face. She wore soft pink blush and soft pink lipstick along with nudish-pink eye shadow. The second picture was a more distant shot that showed what Mowry was wearing, which was a black-and-yellow shirt, black pants, and a pair of black boots.
Greeting her fans, she wrote, “Hello. #goodmorning #bantuknots #protectivestyles #naturalhair #curlyhair ” as the caption.
Although they have been telling her this for the last few posts, fans again took to the comments to reassure Mowry that her hairstyle is looking good.
One person wrote, “Girlllll you’ve been serving lewwwwwksssss (looks) honeyyyy,” and someone else wrote, “You’ve been on our necks lately serving tf out these looks .”
Someone else complimented Mowry on how youthful she looked, writing, “Aging backwards ,” and another person said, “you look beautiful.”
Last year the actress talked about how she rarely wore her natural hair when working on television shows. She said, “I went on to do so many other television shows and I would always wear my hair straight because I was insecure about my curly hair. These insecurities came because I didn’t see these images, meaning women with curly hair and their natural hair, being portrayed as beautiful.”
She revealed that it was shows like her hit ’90s sitcom “Sister, Sister,” which she did with her twin sister Tamera Mowry, that helped make her confident to wear her natural tresses. The mother of two explained, “When I was doing ‘Sister, Sister’ I had curly hair, and what was interesting was once my sister and I got older and we wanted to be viewed as ‘sexy’ we would straighten our hair.”
But she realized that natural hair can be viewed as sexy, and is even able to wear it out on the set of the Netflix “Family Reunion” series she currently appears in.
