‘Slim Queens’: Kandi Burruss’ Throwback Photo with Porsha and Singer D. Woods Has Fans Pointing Out How Skinny They Looked
Kandi Burruss was feeling a little nostalgic the other day. The reality star uploaded a throwback photo of herself, her “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Porsha Willams and singer and former Danity Kane band member D. Woods right before what appeared to be a stage performance.
In the snap, which was uploaded onto Kandi’s Instagram account on Thursday, Feb. 25, the three women were seemingly dressed like a girl group from the ’90s. All the ladies wore similar black leggings and black ankle boots but sported different-colored tops. Kandi rocked a red short-sleeved knit shirt, while Porsha wore a fluorescent pink long-sleeved sweater. D. Woods was spotted wearing a similar top to Porsha’s but in yellow. All three stars posed for the photo while raising one arm in the air. Singer-songwriter Victor Jackson was also in the image, crouched in front of the ladies as if he were presenting them to viewers.
“#TBT to when @porsha4real @yagirldwoods & I performed opening night in #AMothersLove musical,” Kandi captioned the post. “My boy @mrglamrocksoul choreographed the whole thing & of course I wrote all the songs.” Kandi ended the caption by telling fans that “If you never got a chance to see it, pull it up on @betplus & have a movie night! .”
The post garnered over 25,400 likes by fans who were amazed to see how skinny the “Housewives” stars looked back then, including one user who wrote, “Wooo y’all was skinny hunny .” Another person wrote, “Yall show was some slim Queens then .”
Others commented on the questionable fashion choices, including one person who jokingly wrote, “Fashion in general has come a long way .”
“Love this flashback!!,” a fourth wrote. “Lord take me back to the wardrobe of the early 2000’s for a good laugh!”
“Oh y’all was itty-bitty in this picture ,” said another. Even Porsha was amazed by the vintage photo as she reminisced on her days acting on stage. The “Dish Nation” co-host also showed gratitude toward Kandi for involving her in the project. “Wow I LOVE THIS throw back !! such a great experience!!” she wrote. “This is when i fell in love with stage plays. I’ll always appreciate the opportunity @kandi.”
