‘Not an Auntie for Me’: Cynthia Bailey Fans Show Much Love After Latest Selfie Post
Cynthia Bailey served face and cheekbones on Feb. 3, after she shamelessly uploaded a stream of selfies showcasing her glam look, which included neutral makeup tones and wavy locks.
In the caption, Bailey revealed her favorite “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” tagline, which occurred in season five of the hit franchise. Along with the hashtags “RHOA” and “favorite tagline,” she wrote: “Beauty fades, but class is forever #cynthiabailey#rhoa#favoritetagline.”
Many fans rejoiced over the model’s beauty as they commented on her caption.
“C’mon Cynthia, real beauty never fade’s just gets better and more refined. You have that.”
“One of the most beautiful housewives of Atlanta ”
“LOL did you just post a picture of you looking like THAT and say “beauty fades” ???? ”
“I’m knocked out by your beauty .”
Writing “Not an auntie for me ,” one fan told the “RHOA” star that she wasn’t seen as an auntie — a term used to describe an older woman who is wise, and a moniker Bailey’s co-stars referred to her as during an earlier episode of the hit Bravo series.
The initial remark occurred during an episode of “RHOA” that aired on Jan. 31. The scene came after Drew Sidora and LaToya Ali got into a verbal spat over the “Step Up” star’s “not caring about husbands” comment toward the YouTuber.
Following the altercation, the remaining women, including Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams, Tanya Sam, Marlo Hampton, Shamea Morton and Guobadia tried talking to both parties involved separately to defuse the situation. During the discussion, Morton brought up the “auntie and nieces” comment.
“I feel like this is an auntie, niece dynamic. You got the aunties — Morton was referring to Burruss, Moore, and Baliey as aunties — in the other room, and you got the nieces in this room.”
Williams further elaborated on the terms, aunties and nieces during her confessional. She described the nieces as “young, fun and vibrant energy.” While the “Dish Nation” co-host described the aunties as those who “frowned upon everything, they’re so judgy, (inaudible), they’re boring.”
She added, “those are aunties. It’s a mindset for sure, not about age.”
After the detailed description, the nieces toasted to the group’s nickname.
Upon hearing the news that other castmates deemed them aunties, Burruss retaliated the following night by wearing a sheer leopard print black ensemble during the cast’s dinner party.
The mother of three said in the confessional, “these girls tried to clown us calling us aunties, but b—h I can be young too, okay, understand.”
Bailey has yet to respond.
