Just one week after rising young star and activist Yara Shahidi officially became a Harvard University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in African-American Studies, fellow actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish announced she had stepped through the halls of the prestigious Ivy League institution.

In a recent social media post, the “Girls Trip” star acknowledged that she had lessened her presence online, but it has been for good reasons. “Hey y’all, it’s your girl Tiffany Haddish, and I know I ain’t been on here lately, and it’s because I’m getting educated,” a gleeful Haddish announced in the clip of her since expired Instagram Story. “That’s right. I’ve been going to Harvard for the last three days–I’m a student now!”

“Look, this the class. Bam! Harvard!” the 42-year-old continued as she panned the camera around the lecture hall. The California native shared that she’ll be receiving a certificate upon a compilation of her courses.

“Certificated. I’m getting a certificate. Educated baby,” the comic said. “They said I wasn’t going to make it–I made it. Don’t be jealous… don’t be jealous… Fill out your paperwork; you can get in too. No you can’t! No you can’t,” she quipped.

Fans appeared genuinely happy for the “Nobody’s Fool” star and showered her with congratulatory remarks, including one Instagram user who wrote, “From night school to Harvard.” Another person commented, “Black queen furthering her education.”

Of course, some cracked a few jokes, including an online user who joked, “Is she doing the same 2 week program that Tyra did?” “Finna get kicked out just cause of this video,” added another person.

The former runway model was one of many notable celebrities, including LL Cool J and  Swizz Beatz, who have all enrolled at the school for a certificate-based program.

Haddish spoke more about the decision via a Saturday evening Twitter post on June 4, writing, “I Love intelligent people especially ones smarter then me. If I could be surrounded by people more intelligent and wiser then me, I think I would be in heaven finally!”

Someone claiming to be a classmate replied to the post praising the new student, stating, “As a classmate with you at Harvard, you added so much insight and wisdom. Thank you for making our class better.”
