‘That’s His Twin for Sure’: Usher Trends on Twitter After Ja Morant’s Dad Is Picked Out in the Crowd as His Look-alike
It appears rapper Lil Durk isn’t the only celebrity with a doppelgänger. Usher met his match on April 26, while sitting courtside at an NBA playoff game against the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves.
The event, which took place in Memphis, Tennessee, at the FedExForum arena, ended with the Grizzlies winning in the first round of the Western Conference series game with a score of 111 to 109.

The singer, who became a trending topic on Twitter overnight, was compared to Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, as the arena highlighted the game’s look-alike cam on the Jumbotron.
The purpose behind the look-alike cam is to match audience members’ physical appearance to their famous counterparts. In the viral clip, Morant holds his drink as a side-by-side comparison flash on the screen. The video continues with Morant glancing and pointing over to Usher, who is sitting next to him, as the duo laughed and showed each other love with a dap handshake.
What was even more uncanny was the similar dress of both men. Each had on a black shirt, black jeans, sunglasses and sneakers. Following the brief moment, Usher shared the recording and a photo of the pair on his social media accounts.
In the caption, he wrote, “Had to See What the Hype was about.” As the video circulated online, many agreed that Morant was Usher’s twin. One individual brought up Morant’s reaction to the comparison.
“Ja daddy know that’s his twin.”
“That’s his twin for sure!!!”
“Ja dad look so young he really Usher twin.”
“He had to look at Usher, he didn’t even know if he was himself.”
“He looks more like Usher than Usher looks like Usher.”
Among the previous remarks, others mentioned how Usher and Morant were sitting next to each other. One wrote, “Not them sitting next to each other.” Another said, “Did y’all not see the real Usher beside him.”
A third person posted, “Not Usher being beside him.”
