‘Rappers Get Your Money Up’: Snoop Dogg Shocks Fans After He Reveals How Much He Charges for a Feature
**’You Should Expect That’: Social Media Stunned After Snoop Dogg Reveals How Much He Charges for a Feature
**Snoop Dogg Charges This Much for a Feature — and It Doesn’t Include a Music Video
Snoop Dogg knows his worth! The legendary West Coast rapper recently shocked fans online after revealing what he charges for musical collaboration — and it doesn’t guarantee a music video appearance either.
During an interview on the “Full Send” podcast hosted by NELK’s Kyle Forgeard and Bob Menery earlier this week, the 50-year-old revealed that a fellow artist looking to feature the “Dogg Pound Gangsta” emcee on their record can expect to pay $250,000, for which, according to the rapper, “You’ll get about 16 bars.”
He continued, “And when it’s time to do the video, I need to get another $250,000 up out of you. And you only got an hour, so get to filming.”
Much can be considered when figuring out what led Snoop, who recently acquired Death Row Records, into reaching that price point, including the repertoire he’s created, having been in the music industry for over three decades.
Still, fans were stunned, many of whom took to the comments section to share their thoughts, including one Instagram user who defended the veteran’s rate, writing, “snoop a legend tho. Not just anybody. You should expect that.” Another person commented, “when you put in almost 30 years of work you can charge whatever.”
A third person noted, “Probably the only person other than Drake that deserve to charge that much.” The “Doggystyle” rapper has worked with over a dozen acts across genres, including Charlie Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, The Pussycat Dolls and many more.
Snoop recently teased a different kind of collaboration with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records during an interview on the “Drink Champs” podcast. We can show growth and progression and move forward. And we can take this Bad Boy and Death Row and make it a collaboration on peace and love,” he said. “That’s who I am. I’m Suge and Puffy. You know what I’m saying? I’m all in the videos rapping, dancing….”
