King noted that her daughter had been on life support, and the decision to keep her on life support or remove her was agonizing but, ultimately, King did not have to choose.

The singer-songwriter also wrote a message of thanks for those who had called or sent text messages as condolences, as well as others who may be suffering from loss and grief.

“FLY FREE MY LU#SHALAMARDIANA I WILL FOREVER MISS U SPOOG. GRATITUDE FOR CHOOSING ME & BLESSING ME WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL SOUL — MOM.”

DEATH KEEPS IT REAL & PUTS THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE

I NEVER IMAGINED HAVING TO MAKE THE DECISION TO EITHER KEEP MY DAUGHTER ON PERMANENT LIFE SUPPORT OR ALLOW HER TO PASS NATURALLY AS THE FREESPIRIT SHE WAS IN PEACE & WITH DIGNITY

I’M GRATEFUL THE ANSWER WAS CLEAR #SHALAMAR

King also encouraged parents to love and respect their children and let them express themselves because tomorrow isn’t promised. She also spoke of the pain of having your child pass away first, and gave condolences to those who have also lost a child.

“NO MATTER WHAT! GIVE YOUR CHILDREN LUV COMPASSION & RESPECT. UNDERSTAND THAT THEY MAY COME FROM U BUT THEY R NOT YOURS. LET THEM B THEMSELVES & DO YOUR VERY BEST. U JUST NEVER KNO IF THEY WILL GO BEFORE U. MUCHLUV TO ALL THE PARENTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS KIND OF LOSS.”
