Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sex Trafficking Trial Day 2: Cassie Ventura Takes The Stand

Cassie Ventura, the former girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, delivered an emotional testimony during the second day of his sex trafficking trial on Tuesday. According to CNN, Ventura spent nearly four and a half hours on the stand, recounting in detail the abuse she says she suffered during their relationship. She also described being compelled to participate in Combs’ so-called “freak-off” parties, where she felt forced to carry out some of his more extreme and disturbing sexual fantasies.
Ventura—currently expecting her third child—testified in court, claiming Combs, 55, along with his close associates, used intimidation, violence, drugs, bribery, arson, abduction, and deception to force her and other women into prolonged sexual encounters referred to as “freak-offs.” She further alleged that these actions were taken to shield the music mogul’s public image.
Ventura first encountered Combs around the age of 19, eventually signing with his legendary label, Bad Boy Records, in early 2006. Their connection began as a platonic one, but shifted into a sexual relationship following a boat party in Miami.
Ventura said she fell in love with the Grammy-award-winning artist as he was “this exciting, entertaining, fun guy that also happened to have my career in his hands,” according to CNN. “It felt special because not a lot of people got that time with him.”
But over time, she started to see Combs’ controlling behavior seep out. Ventura, now 38, claimed that the rapper and entrepreneur controlled “everything” from the way she looked, her music projects, and monitored who she could and could not speak to.
Ventura claimed Combs had mood swings that led to physical abuse.
That controlling behavior eventually spiraled into physical abuse over the course of their relationship, the singer alleged. Ventura, who released her debut single “Me & U” in 2006, claimed that if she made the “wrong face” or did something to make Combs upset, she would get “hit in the face.”
She added, “If I was a brat or something, he would let me know I needed to ‘fix my face’ or ‘watch my mouth.’”
The physical abuse progressed over time, Ventura said.
“He would smash me in my head, knock me over, drag me, kick me, stomp me in the head if I was down,” the soon-to-be mother of three claimed, noting how she sustained “bruises all over” her body due to Combs’ attacks along with busted lips and knots to her forehead.
Ventura also claimed that her laptop and belongings would be taken away by Combs’ staff if she did something that he didn’t approve of. On several occasions, the singer claimed that Combs even kicked her out of her own apartment.
To quell the violence, Ventura told the courtroom that she did everything to appease the hip-hop mogul.
“I didn’t want him to be upset or not trust me,” she testified on Tuesday, according to NBC News. “He was a scary person, he would be violent.”
Ventura alleged Combs had a voyeurism fantasy which he lived out during his drug-fueled “freak-offs.”

Later on during the lengthy testimony, Ventura alleged that within the first six months of dating Combs, the 55-year-old label head allegedly expressed a desire to watch her engage in sex acts with other men. She agreed, she said, because she feared upsetting him and loved him.
She testified that beginning when she was 22, Combs began organizing what he called “freak offs” — drug-fueled group sex encounters. Ventura described being pressured to take part in these events, despite feeling violated and ashamed. She recalled using ecstasy, ketamine, and other substances to numb herself during these situations. She also said Combs insisted on using heated baby oil during these encounters, sometimes pouring bottles of it into a pool for participants to immerse themselves.
“Sean wanted it heated and he wanted it to be glistening, so we applied every five minutes,” the Connecticut-born singer alleged.
Ventura recounted extreme incidents, including being forced to participate in sexual activity during her menstrual cycle, and an encounter where an escort, at Combs’ request, urinated on her.
“I felt pretty horrible about myself. I felt disgusting. I felt humiliated,” the singer told the courtroom. “I didn’t have the words to show how horrible I felt. I couldn’t talk to anyone about it.”
Ventura said that taking drugs regularly during Combs’ wild sexcapades helped her to disassociate from the painful experience.
“I was high, so I didn’t feel much,” she explained. “Did this really happen to me? I didn’t know what was going to happen after that, if we were going to do it more frequently, I said yes to more, I didn’t want to make him upset or angry.”
Even when she was unwell, Ventura testified that Combs insisted she continue, showing no concern for her condition.
“I would actually vomit,” she alleged. “When I got sick during a ‘freak off,’ he would encourage me to get up and continue on with it.”
She revealed that she was eventually tasked with sourcing sex workers from various websites at Combs’ direction, including Craigslist, Backpage, and Cowboys 4 Angels. One particularly harrowing event occurred in 2016 at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. Ventura said that after attempting to leave one of the parties, Combs assaulted her, grabbing, kicking, and dragging her back to the room. Surveillance video of the incident, which surfaced last year, has been ruled admissible in court.
Combs faces five federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He has pleaded not guilty and, if convicted, could face life in prison.
